RISQ'EAU Project - European Regional Development Fund
Last update: 23 August 2024, 17:05
The RISQ'EAU project, co-financed by the Italy-France ALCOTRA Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020, involves the ALCOTRA territories, i.e. some Italian/French geographical areas characterised by small or medium-small river basins, such as the Municipality of Vallecrosia and the Municipality of San Lorenzo al Mare, which, faced with increasingly frequent adverse weather phenomena (e.g. intense rainfall with strong spatial variability), have revealed a high degree of fragility and vulnerability to flood risk and water pollution situations, becoming the scene of even recent disasters.
The RISQ'EAU project, therefore, sets itself the ambitious goal of increasing the resilience of these territories through the implementation of:
- an effective system for forecasting and managing flood events, as well as for assessing the risk associated with water pollution;
- a series of joint actions, derived from the common experience acquired in the field together with the theoretical input provided by the academic partnership;
- Effective, cross-sector communication activities (updating, information, dissemination, and awareness-raising meetings for local authority technicians and administrators, industry professionals, and the general public) are implemented across the region.
The RISQ'EAU project, co-financed by the Italian-French cross-border cooperation program ALCOTRA 2014-2020, concerns the ALCOTRA territories, which explains the Italian-French geographical zones characterized by small hydrographic basins, which is why the Municipalities of Vallecrosia et de San Lorenzo al Mare, here, face some météorologique phénomènes défavorables de plus en plus frequents et violences (for example des pleins abondantes avec une strong spatial variability), ont révélé a degree élevé de fragilité et de vulnerability aux situations de risque d’inondation d’oudaine et de pollution de l’eau, devenant un theater of catastrophes aussi récent.
The RISQ'EAU project, therefore, is fixed as an objective scope to accroître the resilience of these territories through the creation of:
- a system for forecasting and effectively managing floods, as well as assessing the risks associated with water pollution;
- a series of actions, issues of the common experience acquired on the terrain and of the theoretical contribution fournie for the academic partnership;
- communication actions (reunions of daily life of women and of information, of diffusion and of sensitization of technicians and administrators of local municipalities, of professionnels of sector and of the population) effective and transversal across the territories.
