The history of the Imperia cycle path
The Imperia cycle path was born from the transformation of the former coastal railway line , an infrastructure that for many years crossed the city, connecting it to other towns on the Riviera.
The relocation of the railway line allowed the previous site to be recovered and returned to the community, transforming it into a space dedicated to sustainable mobility, walking, and landscape enhancement.
The entire Imperia cycle path, approximately 9 kilometers long, will be inaugurated with a day of participation and initiatives open to the public.
The project helped mend the urban fabric between Oneglia and Porto Maurizio, reclaiming areas previously occupied by the railway and creating new opportunities for connecting and enjoying the area.
Today, the cycle path represents an important link between the city's infrastructural history and a new vision of mobility, oriented towards sustainability, tourism, and the quality of public spaces.
