Description
Istat surveys, annually rather than every ten years, the main characteristics of the population living in the country and its social and economic conditions at the national, regional, and local levels.
Unlike past censuses, the Permanent Census does not involve all families , but only a portion of them each year, that is, representative samples: in 2026, approximately 1 million families, residing in 2,529 Italian municipalities, will be involved.
The family may be asked to participate in the sample survey or not be involved in the current edition of the census.

LIST SURVEY – October 5 to December 23, 2026
The approximately 1,400 families from Imperia involved in the Lista survey They will receive a letter from ISTAT inviting citizens to register on the dedicated portal to complete the online questionnaire.
Families can complete the questionnaire online using the login credentials received in the information letter signed by the ISTAT President, or via SPID or CIE, or contact the municipal Statistics Office for a telephone interview, or visit the Town Hall until December 6, 2026.
Starting November 12, non-responding or partially responding families will be contacted by municipal operators to conduct the telephone interview or by a surveyor to proceed with the face-to-face interview at their home or at the Municipality.
Access to the Istat portal is possible from October 5, 2026.
The MUNICIPAL CENSUS OFFICE, located on the ground floor of the Town Hall, is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC for assistance in completing the questionnaire FROM OCTOBER 5 TO DECEMBER 23, 2026 at the following times:
Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 12:30
Also on Tuesdays from 2pm to 3:30pm
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday also from 3pm to 4.30pm
possibly by appointment to be agreed by telephone on 0183 701286 or 701621 or 701255
Assistance in completing the questionnaire is completely free.
The Census is a mandatory requirement, therefore full cooperation is requested: the surveyors will try to cause minimal inconvenience to the family.
